Jeannette Caroline Allgood passed away at the Lampstand Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Bryan, Texas on September 11, 2024. She was born on October 6, 1947, in Austin, Texas, to Mary Jean and Jack Ray, Jr. She lived most of her life in the D/FW area and graduated from LD Bell High School and was a member of the National Honor Society.

Jeannie, also known as Grammy, married the love of her life, Joe Max Allgood, on September 24, 1971. She loved sewing, crafts, cooking and painting. She spent many years designing and creating costumes for her kids who competed in Roller Skating. She looked forward to weekly lunches and shopping with her mother and sisters Debbie and Kathy, and she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was obsessed with shopping for pretty tea pots, china, and décor and would go all out decorating for the holidays. She was a true Texas girl and loved Football. A lifetime Dallas Cowboys fan, upon moving to Bryan/College Station she also fell in love with Aggies. However, her main love was her grandchildren and spent countless hours having tea parties, fun activities, making memories and showing them how much they were loved.

Preceded in death by husband, Joe Max Allgood; her son, Jeffery James Allgood; mother, Mary Jean Ray; father, Jack Ray, Jr.; and brother, Jack Ray III.

She is survived by her daughter, Jaclyn Giles and husband Chase Giles; siblings, Debbie Smith, Kathy Lucas and her husband Dave Lucas; grandchildren, Taylor Allgood and wife Brittany Allgood, Mackenzie Allgood and wife Madeleine, Tanner Allgood, Braedon Giles, Madelyn Giles, Josephine Giles, Brielle Giles; and great grandson, McCoy Lynn Allgood as well as nieces and a nephew.

A “One Last Tea Party” memorial will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S. College Avenue, Bryan, TX, followed by tea and light finger foods.
