Pastor Janet Green of Skybreak Church, College Station, Texas is now in heaven.
Janette Marie Green was born February 4, 1960 and went to heaven on April 15, 2024. She is married to Danny Green, her husband of 44 years. They have two sons – Jarrod Green and wife, Kendra Grandchildren – Laila 16, Lonna 13, Lainey 10 and Landon 7. Nathan Green and wife, Kyndal. Grandchildren – Chandler 10, Malachi 8, Fallon 5, and Maverick 23 months.
Janet and Danny moved to College Station in the Spring of 1987 to begin what is now known as Skybreak Church, A non-denominational congregation. On May 3, 1987 the church began and it has grown through the years to be one of the most influential churches in our region of Texas and beyond. On April 30, 2023 pastors Danny and Janet passed the baton of Lead Pastor to their son, Nathan Green and his wife Kyndal. Their son Jarrod Green also serves as a Pastor at the church and leads the worship weekly.
Janet’s story is a miraculous one. In May of 1997 she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at age 37. She has fought valiantly and survived multiple surgeries and countless chemotherapy treatments for almost 27 years. She is the epitome of a true testimony of courage and resilience. Through her faith in God alone she has persevered these many years. Her story has been an inspiration and encouragement to her family, her friends, her church, and to all those who know her. We pray her journey of faith will be the same for anyone who is facing great difficulties. That you too can find hope through faith in God – you can overcome whatever you’re facing.
“Trust in the Lord, don’t lean on your own understanding, in all you plans acknowledge Him and He will guide your steps.” Prov 3:5
“She has fought a good fight, she has finished the race, she has kept the faith, now there is prepared for her a crown that the Lord himself will give her.” 2 Tim 4:7
