Jane Hellen Hockman was born to Elvin and Margaret Hockman during a thunderstorm on July 4, 1950. Jane was delighted to be born on Independence Day, taking great joy in the yearly fireworks “just for her birthday”. Known as “Miss Jane” to all who knew her including her son Bradley. Miss Jane had a special love for children. She was proud of her 38 years as a bus driver first for Laidlaw in Annandale, NJ and then later for BISD in Bryan, Tx. Miss Jane was a lifelong member of the Clinton Rescue Squad in Clinton, NJ. She was particularly proud of the babies she assisted in delivering during that time and the opportunity to preform lifesaving CPR. In 2003 Miss Jane made the move to Texas to be near her son Bradley. Her love of children lead her to begin teaching in the mother’s day out programs for both Hillcrest Baptist church and Central Church of Christ in Bryan. Miss Jane also worked in the nursery of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in College Station for the next 19 years as well. She loved watching her church babies grow over the years. Miss Jane enjoyed nothing more that spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Barbara Gutekenst.

Jane McPherson is survived by her son, Brian and wife Kelly McPherson, their children Brian Jr. and Rebecca. Son Bradley and wife Jackie McPherson, their children Tyler, Braden, and Madelyn; her sister, Gladys Ennis; other relatives and close friends.
