James Landon Walker of Bryan, Texas, passed away on March 14, 2023 in an automobile collision.  James, known to friends and family as “Jim,” was born on September 23, 1936 in Chesterfield, Tennessee.  James proudly served in the Air National Guard, and was on active duty from October 1, 1961 through August 20, 1962.  For most of his career, James was in the truck-leasing business.  Before moving to Texas in 1994, James lived in Tennessee, Illinois, Missouri and Mississippi.  But he was a Texan at heart, and found his true home in Texas.  James was predeceased by his parents, George Vernon and Lela Walker; his brothers, John and Charles Walker; his sister, Lawana Inez Walker; and his son, Marc Walker.  He is survived by his brother, Joe Walker; sons Stephen, David and Darrin Walker; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.   A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Callaway Jones Funeral Home in Bryan.  James will be interred at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.
