Gerry Foley of Bryan, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on August 16, 2022. A funeral mass will be held for Gerry on Monday, August 22 at 11am at St. Joseph Catholic Church E 26th Street, Bryan, Texas 77803. Interment to follow at Aggie Field of Honor. Visitation and Rosary will be held Sunday, August 21 from 4-6 pm at Callaway Jones Funeral Home 3001 S. College Ave. Bryan, TX 77801.

Gerry was born in Gatesville, Texas to Dorothy Nell and Gerrell Wayne Barrington. Throughout her early life she moved frequently due to her father’s employment. She graduated from Premont High School in May 1964. She received her bachelor degree from Texas A&I University in May 1969. Even before graduation she was showing a heart for others by taking on a full time teaching position working for Falfurrias ISD filling a position of need for the district while still in school herself. Upon graduation, Gerry married her high school sweetheart, Bob Foley. Immediately thereafter she found herself the bride of a USAF student pilot at Randolph AFB, San Antonio, TX. Gerry and Bob were blessed with a son on Valentine’s Day, 1970. After graduation from pilot training, the Foley’s were assigned to Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, TX. Throughout their life in the military, Gerry held down the homefront during Bob’s extended overseas assignments. Shortly after leaving the Air Force, a daughter was welcomed into the family. No matter where they landed or how long they stayed home was centered around Gerry’s family. Not only did she gracefully manage frequent moves and a growing family, she touched countless lives in her 20 years as an elementary classroom teacher. Gerry and Bob retired to Bryan, Texas where she continued to work with children as a substitute teacher.

For Gerry, family was always first and foremost. From her early years caring for her brothers to her adult years as an Air Force wife, Gerry radiated God’s grace and patience. Always a friend, Gerry’s loving personality connected to everyone she met. Her joy in spending time with family was a defining trait throughout her life.

Gerry has reunited with her parents; her granddaughter, Bailey Carissa Foley; and brother, Danny Lynn Barrington.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Foley; her son and wife, Chris and Christina Foley; her daughter, Keri Foley; a brother and wife, Bill and Donna Barrington, their three daughters and families; and a grandson, Dane Foley.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Texas A&M Foundation, 401 George Bush Drive, College Station, Texas 77840. Guestbook

  1. So very sorry to learn of Gerry’s death. We send our deep and sincere condolences to Bob and family.

  2. My sincere sympathy to the whole family on your loss of Gerry .
I remember Gerry as one who never seem to loose her smile and laugh and to inspire others
    Rest in peace . ✝️

  3. Grew up with The Foley Family in Premont, TX. After going our separate ways, we reconnected and got to know Gerry. Through Old Aggie Lunch Bunch in the Bryan-
College Station Area, we would fellowship occasionally with Bob & Gerry. Additionally, a bunch of us Premont High School and Sun Oil Camp folks would reminisce each April at
the Lockhart Turkey Hunt. Bob & Tom played some golf together and Gerry was always so
gracious with us doing our “guy thing.” Gerry was a very warm, nice and kind person. We
plan to attend her services and support her family. Our prayers continue for all.

  4. May you find peace in knowing she is at rest and will be watching over you. Our thoughts and prayers with Bob, Keri, Chris and families.

  5. Gerry Frances is my cousin and I have so many happy memories of time with the Barringtons especially during our years in Premont. In later years we would see each other at family reunions and family celebrations. Always smiling, Gerry would light up a room and I will miss that beautiful face.
Chris and I send our heartfelt sympathy and love to Bob and family and Bill, Donna and family.

  6. Wendy and my heart are with you and your family. The TxCEIA board is also mourning with you and sending their thoughts and prayers.
