March 31, 1950 ~ January 25, 2023
Born in:
Navasota, Texas
Resided in:
Bryan, Texas
Eliodoro “Al” Dominguez Jr, age 72, departed this earthly life Wednesday, January 25, 2023 after a short illness. He passed peacefully at home with his wife at his side. He was born to parents Rebecca Moreno Dominguez and Eliodoro Dominguez Sr., March 31, 1950 in Navasota, Texas.
Growing up in a large family probably contributed to his love of family, sports, and competition. He attended Navasota schools and played baseball and basketball. He was known as “Bones” on the basketball court in high school due to his very slim physique. After graduation from Navasota High School he enrolled in Blinn with hopes of continuing his education, however, the military had other plans for him. He was drafted and entered the U.S. Army branch of the military and served nine years. Throughout his life Eliodoro was proud of his service to our country. His deep sense of pride as a serviceman was further enhanced when his son, David, entered service in the U.S. Air Force.
Eliodoro was employed by Texas Instruments, St. Joseph Hospital, and the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired after many years. While working for the postal service he received several awards. He was an avid golfer, fisherman, tennis player, and gardener. Every spring and summer we knew we would be getting lots of tomatoes from his garden! Eliodoro loved to travel and experienced adventures in Europe, the U.S., and cruising. Always a kid at heart, Disney World was one of his favorite places to visit. Experiencing it with his grandchildren was a wonderful treat for him.
Eliodoro was a member of USA and TASO softball associations and loved umpiring as much as he could. He was also a member of the American Legion, and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church through the rosary ministry, the church gift shop, and bazaar.
People who knew him knew how much he loved saving money by using coupons! It was a win for him! Friends and family alike benefitted from his friendship, love, kindness, and sense of humor.
We will always remember his kindness and generosity towards his mother- and father-in-law. His willingness to always be available to help them out especially in their advanced ages was a testament to his kind heart. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and especially by his family.
Eliodoro is preceded in death by his parents Rebecca and Eliodoro Sr., brothers Frank, Robert, Rudy, Johnny, Rogelio, sister-in-law Jeanette Dominguez, and grandson Chance Alexander Cooper.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda Orozco Dominguez, sons David Michael (Deana) and Paul Anthony; grandsons John Michael and James David Dominguez; daughters Michelle Renee Kik (Matt) and Denise Marie Mortensen (Adam), grandchildren: Devon Leigh Cooper Booth (Anthony Austin Booth), Ransom Scott Hill, Carter Dean Magoon; and great-grandchildren: Anthony Austin Booth, Jr., Bradleigh Chance Booth, and Cooper Jackson Booth.
He is also survived by sisters Gloria Angulo (Juan), Linda Lopez (Ronald), Irene Rueda (Zeke), sisters-in-law, Trina, Silvia, Carmen, and Kathy Dominguez; and sisters- and brothers-in-law Dora (Orozco) and Joaquin Sanchez and Robert and Rebecca Orozco, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Traditions Health Hospice Care, the Regnum Christi sisters group, St. Joseph Catholic Church friends, and all family and friends who offered prayers, food, and words of comfort. Eliodoro loved life, his family and friends, and above all, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A visitation will be on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 5 pm -6 pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center, Bryan. The rosary will follow at 6 pm. The funeral mass will be on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 1 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial following at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Peace be with you!
I will continue to PRAY! PRAY! PRAY!
A message of Love:
May we show others God’s tender loving care through faith strengthened by prayer and lived out in love.
In His Holy Perfect Timing, God calls His Own to be with Him, Forever. We shall see Our Loved Ones again. We must be Holy, because, God says, “Be holy, because I am holy.”….
I Love You Dear Linda and your Family.
Sister in Christ,
Your Holy, Sister Joanie
Linda, David, and Paul
I am so sorry to hear about Al’s passing. Your home was a second home to me for so many years. Al always made me feel welcomed. I will always remember his kindness and warm nature, and will remember him with great admiration.
Katy and I are praying for you all.

So sad to hear. Al was a great co-worker at the Post Office. Enjoyed playing dominoes with him at lunch. When away from work he gave this young guy a humbling experience on the tennis court, not to mention several lessons on the golf course. He was one of the best softball umpires in the BCS. He will be missed by many and loved by all. Gods Peace
Linda and family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Prayers for peace and strength.
Linda and family, Marco and I were saddened when we read this morning of Al’s passing. He will be missed. We are nearby and invite you to come over for a cup of coffee in the coming weeks. We’d love to chat a while with you. Our family rosary tonight will be for Al and your family’s intentions. ❤️❤️
Aww…!!! I’m so sorry! Al was awesome! I loved talking with him about life, family, tennis and golf.
We umpired together many times. Rest In Peace Al. You will surly be missed! Prayers for the family!!
I always enjoyed working with Al on the softball field. He was highly respected and always smiling and very friendly with everybody on the field. Prayers to his family.
AL was a fun guy to be with. We played tennis together for about 20 years. He was a good player and liked to compete. He talked about his church and was very religious. I will miss Al and offer my condolence to his family.
