Elaine Kennedy was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She left this world peacefully on Friday September 22, 2023 at age 82 with family lovingly by her side.

She was born to John Henry and Babe Etoy LaHargoue on July 13, 1941 in Coalinga, California. After graduating high school in Porterville, California, Elaine chased her dream to serve in the U.S. Navy where she had the opportunity to travel and where she met her husband and the love of her life, John E. Kennedy. Together, they had two children: Michelle and Michael.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Elaine. Football season was by far her favorite time of the year, most weekends included cheering for her favorite team, the Fightin’ Texas Aggies. She baked the best peanut butter cookies, while we all tried to replicate her recipe, they never tasted as amazing as hers. There was always music playing in the house, she loved it and listened to everything from Elvis to Journey, George Strait to Hall & Oats.

Elaine Kennedy was preceded in death by her loving husband, John. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Kennedy Tepolt, and son, Michael Kennedy. She was a person of faith and her greatest joy in life was being a grandma to Michael’s two children, Zoe and Charlie. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family and friends.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Restever Memorial Park Cemetery on Texas Ave. at 11AM, followed by a small reception at Calloway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, TX to honor her life.
