Edward Louis Luza, 81, of College Station, passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in College Station. A mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bryan on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 and will begin at 1:00 p.m. Msgr. John McCaffrey will officiate.

Edward met his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Ann Jankowiak, after going on a double date with their friends Daniel and Angie. They were married six months later on July 19, 1964.

After his retirement from Apple Tree, he continued to be involved in his grandchildrens lives teaching them how to fish, drive, dance, grill, play a mean game of dominoes and much more.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Cecilia Luza; wife, Joyce Ann Jankowiak Luza; sister, Pat Nemec; and brothers, Larry, John, and Bill Luza.

He is survived by a son, Eddie and wife Paula, and a daughter, Jeneane. He also leaves behind his five grandchildren, Cody, Garrett, Kaitlyn, Daylan and Cassidy; and many other family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Acara Hospice with special thanks to his nurse, Sara and his aide Toya, for the wonderful care they have given to our Father/Granddaddy (“Tata”). Additional gratitude is expressed for Edward’s niece, Lori Nemec; nephew Larry Luza, Jr.; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn for the many hours of added essential care they provided.

  1. So sorry for your loss. What a great man Mr. Luza was and he will be greatly missed. I will always remember he and Joyce at Elvis functions, laughing and adding so much to our enjoyment. The twinkle of adventure always in his eyes and love for his family.
