April 11, 1943 ~ November 30, 2023

Born in: Dallas , Texas
Resided in: College Station, Texas

Doris M. Hinton, 80, formerly of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 30, 2023 in College Station, Texas. She is now in heaven celebrating with her Lord and Savior.

Doris was born on April 11, 1943 to William E. & Doris Lee Biggs in Dallas, Texas.

Doris is preceded in death by her father, mother and husband, Clyde. She is survived by her only daughter, Tracy Sanders and her husband, Bruce, of College Station: her two grandsons Ty Sanders of Liberty Hill (and his fiance Shelby McDonald) & Luke Sanders, a freshman at Oklahoma State University; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Anyone that knew Doris the past 12 years knew she was a fighter. She was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disorder, CIDP, but didn’t let that stop her. She may have gotten slower but never gave up and was determined to keep living by herself. During those times she was an inspiration to many nurses and caretakers. She loved being a wife, mom and most importantly, “D”, to her two grandsons.

A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Traditions Hospice and Caring Companions. Also, thank you to Dr. Erin Fleener and her wonderful staff for the love they showed Doris during her weekly transfusions, she always referred to them as her other family.

Memorials, if preferred, may be made to Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach (pregnancyoutreach.org), OnRamp (onramptx.org) or a charity of your choice.

At Doris’ request there will be no funeral service. However, family will receive friends and celebrate her life on Sunday, December 17 from 2:00-4:00 pm at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas.
