So sorry for your loss Brenda. Donnie seemed like a great fellow. I know that he will be missed by many.
Donnie was truly an awesome friend and guy. My husband and I was so honored to call him friend. He would be there and help anyone that was in need. You will truly be missed.
Don,
I know how to change ceiling fans because of you, I know how to replace garbage disposals because of you, what I know of hvac and plumbing was built on the foundation that you taught almost 15 years ago as I entered the then, new to me construction industry. Your teachings have followed me as I progressed through the career path in construction I’ve chosen. And for that I will always be most appreciative and indebted to you sir. You were a kind person and always a laugh to hang with. I pray u get the rest you deserve boss. With all love and respect to you Don.
For as long as I have known them its always been “Don and Brenda”. He was truly one of a kind and always treated me and Jordan as his family. Stay strong Brenda and all the family you are all in my prayers!

I will always miss you. I met THE DON two years after my dad died. He was a big influence in my life. He was hard on me at times but loved me like a dad. He showed me how to be a man. He taught me everything I know from houses to cars to cooking. I believe cooking was his way to love on others and I loved eating his food lol. He used to call me Dr Dave because I could fix almost anything. ( because of him)
He told me I’m going to make a messcin out you boy . It’s been an honor to know you and do life with you. See you on the other side. Love you.

Donnie was multi-talented, he used his God given talents, and he will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He was a skilled master of many trades. He was what I would call an all around American guy. You could say he was a jack of all trades and a master of most. A true handy-man. Throughout the years we would see Donnie and we would talk about our jobs and it always amazed me as he shared his latest trade: painter, maintenance lead, A/C tech no matter what it was he learned the trade quickly and they would use his new skill to help others in need.
As I prepared to write this I was led one morning in my devotional time to read up on spiritual gifts and quickly learned that Donnie used his spiritual gifts. We are to live a life worth of the calling that we receive and to do something useful with our hands and to share with those in need. Donnie used his natural talents and tendencies. He would come to the rescue when something was broken and would fix it no matter who it was. He never expected payment. He just had a heart of helping others.
Our names mean something. They give us a sense of who we are and our place in the world. Donnie’s name was Donald. The name Donald signifies a freedom-loving and free-spirited individual. Donnie was all of these. His name means a charming person because he was a great companion, witty, kind, and always ready to help.
His zodiac was a Virgo and they are known for being practical, sensible, loyal, and hardworking. Donnie was a hard-worker. Another trait of a Virgo is that they can be meticulous. This could explain why he organized the can goods in the pantry. 🙂

One of my favorite memories was a shared birthday celebration held for Donnie and my grandma that we celebrated outside. There was a live concert consisting of family and friends. It is very special when your own family can provide good entertainment and has so much talent. Donnie had an aptitude for music. Making music is both a talent and a skill. Talent is the natural ability to learn something quickly through hard work and dedication. Both hard work and dedication describe Donnie. As you would watch him play and sing you could tell that he enjoyed every note of every tune. He shared his love for music and we all have fond memories around his love for music.
Donnie had a sense of humor. Brenda do you remember this? Once he posted on FB a picture of a Christmas tree and he wrote to you do you suffer from POPD? Perfect ornament placement disorder? This post I laughed out loud. He wrote Dear FB world for some reasons my daughter Courtney Garcia will not talk to daddy lets see how many likes it takes her to call her daddy lol… For the record he got 71 likes and 21 comments and 3 shares. He later comments on his own post just messin with her folks but look how many likes I got sis I love you and your family very much I won’t pick on you for at least 2 days lol. There was also a post to Brandi that said Brandi and mom need to hurry home daddy’s hungry.
We all miss Jason. I found this from Jason to Donnie. All of your SACRAFICE and hard work doesn’t ever go unnoticed and someone has always been watching and appreciating every move you make so cheers to you dad(papa) you may be 50 but far from over the hill…I think its safe to speak for all of us even the grandkids when I say “The Don” is legendary in our eyes…just shoein you some love on your bday and want to thank you for everything you’ve done and for still being here doin it…we’re all the lucky ones.
I found this is written by Donnie – I’m awesome, and I’ll tell you why; good career, great family, the best of friends, and my trust that all will continue beyond my days. I think that I have learned well, taught well, and helped set certain traditional traits that will carry on my family name. It’s not easy growing up like I did, child to daddy in 6.5 sec. You learn fast, live day by day, but with the help and support of my beautiful wife Brenda we made it happen. I can’t imagine a day without her, she is my ROCK she is my ROLL, I love her with every fiber of my soul.
To close – here is a quote by Irving Berlin – “The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.”
Donnie, I will see you in heaven.
