Daune Sharon Van Dyke McCreight, 82 of College Station passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Daune was born December 8, 1940, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri to James and Frances (Sheppard) Van Dyke.
She married Robert Walker McCreight in Harlingen, Texas on April 14, 1959. Daune had a beautiful singing voice. She devoted her talent to God as she sang in many church choirs.
Daune was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Daune is survived by her husband of 64 years Robert McCreight; daughter Rae McCreight Dukes; stepson Robert Lee McQuerns and wife Ouida; grandchildren: Chance, Chad, and Shae; great-grandson Grayson; sisters: Denise Seay, Diane Thornburg and husband Eddie, and Debra Carlisle. She is preceded in death by her parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice Brazos Valley, Bluebonnet Hospice and Waterford at College Station for their kind and compassionate care that was provided to Daune.
No services are planned at this time. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
Cremation services are with Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

I will always remember Duane’s ever present smiling face, her wry sense of humor, infectious laugh and ready to document any event with her camera and pictures. Definitely one of my favorite people growing up. I hope you and my mother, JoAnn, are together now working puzzles, giggling with their inside jokes and planning the next event. Peace and love to you.
