Cecil W. Krueger Sr, 86, passed away on May 8, 2023 in Bryan, Texas.

Cecil W. Krueger was born February 19, 1937 in New Ulm, TX, to Lee W. Krueger and Hertha Mieth Krueger. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother Kermit Lee Krueger in 1995 and sister-in-law Verna Dell (Williams) Krueger in 2006, and spouses, Lillie Mae Schramm (first wife) and Beverly (Hering) Krueger.

Survivors include daughters Karen Stork, Melissa Krueger and Lynn Krueger, and sons Gary Krueger, Darrell (Fuzzy) Krueger, Charlie Krueger, and Cecil W. Krueger Jr, and their respective spouses, and niece Shirley L. Krueger-Rice and nephew Larry G. Krueger. He had 20 grandkids and 9 great grandkids.

Cecil was a legend in the barbering business, retiring from The Barber Shop in April 2019. He barbered for over 60 years, working at the MSC Barber Shop and Northgate for most of those years before retiring from The Barber Shop at the young age of 82. When he was not cutting Texas A&M Aggies’ hair, he enjoyed spending time playing dominos, going camping and fishing, dancing, going to casinos and the beach and watching westerns. He also never missed an episode of The Price is Right in the morning, Wheel of Fortune in the evening, his Bud Light before lunch and his two hour afternoon nap. He treasured time spent with his children, grandkids and great-grand kids.

A visitation will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, TX on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 2 pm, funeral service at 3 pm, and burial following at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, Texas.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Cecil is a Legend. He was such great barber, but he was an even better man. He cut the hair for thousands of Cadets over his career, and was a friend to all. I would make it a point for Cecil to cut my hair long after I had graduated and moved away. I remember him asking me if I was still in The Corps, we both got a good laugh out of it. Good memories.

  2. Mr. Krueger cut my hair quite a few times at Northgate in the early 90s. Then by chance unbeknownst to me his daughter Melissa started cutting my hair as well as my son’s. That’s been over 20 years ago and counting for us both. I know Cecil will be missed by many for sure.
While getting my haircut, after learning the connection I might ask Melissa about Cecil. She was usually quick to share a beach or other adventure that she and Lynn put together for “dad” and what a great time he had. You girls truly brought him so much joy and memories. Memories that I know you two cherish. All the best to the family, Keith Petitt
