Bobby Gene Trahan passed away in his Bryan, TX, home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the age of 72. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm and the funeral service will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023. Both services will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, TX.

Bobby was born on January 22, 1951 in Lafayette, Louisiana, to Delton and Mary Trahan. Bobby graduated from Northside High School in Lafayette on May 23, 1969. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served aboard the USS Brumby as a sonar technician. Bobby was awarded the National Defense Service Medal during his service and was honorably discharged in June of 1975. Throughout his high school and Navy careers, Bobby was an avid bowler. He won several UIL bowling tournaments as a high school student. During his service in the Navy, Bobby also won many tournaments and even qualified for the Navy Bowling National Tournament in 1973. After his time in the Navy, Bobby followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather and he began driving a semi in the oilfield industry. Bobby continued his work in the oilfields until his retirement in 2016. Bobby was an excellent cook and enjoyed making food and celebrating with his family and friends. He also loved rooting for the New Orleans Saints and the LSU Tigers every chance he could get. Bobby married Sarah Cantrell on August 3, 1985. He welcomed the role of being step-father to Sarah’s son, Brian. Joseph Trahan was born March 3, 1986 to Bobby and Sarah. Bobby was a supportive husband, father, brother, and son.

Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Delton Trahan. He is survived by his mother, Mary Richard, his brothers Gene and Wayne Trahan, his sister-in-law Pam Trahan, his wife, Sarah Trahan, his son, Joseph Trahan, his step-son Brian Guyton wife Michelle, and his three grandchildren, Gage Trahan, Brendan Guyton, and Avery Guyton.
