Beverly Kunkel, 96, of Bryan, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2022, in Bryan. Visitation will begin at 12 noon until the time of service at 1:30pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, both at the funeral center. Interment will follow in the College Station City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Beverly graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She worked in Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and California before moving to Texas. Where, in 1960, she met the love of her life Dr. Harry Kunkel. They married on December 18, 1960. They adopted three children over the course of four years. Beverly and Harry loved to travel and went on many trips, taking their children with them on some of them around America and abroad.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband, H.O. Kunkel; her son Geoffrey Kunkel; her daughter, Sheryl Kunkel; her parents, Dr. Raymond E. Davies and Cora B. Moore; and her sister, Alice Douglas.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia K. Thompson and partner, Denna M. Thompson; her grandsons, Geoffrey Stolte and Zachary Stolte; her sister, Dorothy Meek; her brother, Dr. William Davies and wife, Nadine Davies; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

When her husband passed away, she moved to Arbor Oaks where she made many new friends as well as connecting with some old friends. She was an active participant in many social activities there. Thank you, Arbor Oaks and Crestview skilled nursing, for taking wonderful care my mother.

  1. Beverly was such a dear friend to me and my Mom Ann. She had God in her heart and shared His love with others. Beverly is now rejoicing, face to face with Jesus. Jenny, my prayers are with you and all your family as you mourn for your Mom. May God provide you with comfort and peace.
