Ada Grace (Davenport) Brandemuehl, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 11, 2024, in Conroe, TX, following a hard fought, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on September 22, 1940, to William Thomas and Valeska M. (Lawson) Davenport, in Freeport, TX and graduated in 1959 from Brazosport Senior High School, Freeport, TX. She held various clerical/secretarial positions in California and Virginia and worked with the Naval Intelligence Service (NIS) and the U.S. Federal District Clerk’s Office in Houston, TX. In addition, Ada spent several years as a Continuing Education Representative with Scott & White Hospital, Temple, TX.
Ada was a loving, caring, giving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. She married the “Love of her Life” Roger P. “Buck” Brandemuehl on January 16, 1971. They recently celebrated 53 years together as Best Friends, always loving each other unconditionally. They raised three children together: Pam B. Phinny (Steve), Longview, TX; Mike Jernigan, Conroe, TX; and Christi L. Brown (Trevor), Magnolia, TX.
Other than her beloved husband and children, she leaves behind grandsons; Zach Phinny, Owen, Wyatt and Ben Brown; granddaughters Megan P. Young (Daniel) and Alex (Lexi) Henderson; a great-grandson Cullen Young and great-granddaughter Ellie Grace Young; her sister-in-law, Judy Bush; brother-in-law, Thomas Anderson; nieces Robbie, Nanci, Leigh, and Sue; two nephews Thomas and Scott; and multiple great-nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death were her parents, four sisters; June, JoAnn, Eloise (Tootie), and Diane (Nanny); One brother William (Bill), two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, three nephews and one niece.
Ada was a mighty follower of Jesus! She was loyal, loving and made everyone feel special. Her radiant beauty, inside and out, was effervescent to everyone who knew her. What a joy! We love and miss you more than you know! “Well done, good and faithful servant!” (Matt. 25:23).
Ada willed her body to the Texas A&M University College of Medicine in the hope that it might somehow help in the cure of cancer or other illnesses.
“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)
A Memorial (Praise) Service honoring Ada will be presented @1pm, Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Woodlands First Baptist Church North, 5148 FM-1488, Magnolia, TX (281-367-4317).
