Lynn was born to Ira and Mildred Carter Rumfield in Bryan, Texas, on January 27, 1946, at the Bryan Hospital. He was a man of great character and wisdom. He attended Texas A&M but transferred to Stephen F. Austin to complete his studies in Agriculture Education. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Lynn was a man who also valued a hard days work, who enjoyed bailing hay and ranching even after coming home from teaching all day. He often worked past dark and still had the drive to get up and do it all over again the next day. Lynn was the Ag Teacher at Snook ISD for thirty-five years. He loved his two grandsons beyond measure. He was a member of The Edge Community Baptist Church for years. He loved his wife Wanda who they shared thirty-seven years of marriage before her passing in 2008.

His parents; his wife Wanda Rumfield; his brother Edward Rumfield; his sister Carolyn Barnett, his grandson Dylan Rumfield, all precede him in death.

His living legacy will continue through his son Duber and wife Tiffiany Rumfield; his grandson Cody Rumfield and girl friend Katelyn Wager; his sister-in-law Brenda Rumfield; his brother-in-law Kenneth Barnett and his children Chris and Wade; and other relatives and friends.

Lynn’s family asked that any memorial donations to be given to the Snook ISD Agriculture Department, c/o Lynn Rumfield Memorials, PO Box 87, Snook, Texas 77878
