Known to most as Granny, she leaves behind a legacy of caretaking, gardening and serving her family. With only three children of her own, Mary Jo was ultimately known for her involvement in the church, her neighborhood and grandchildren’s lives.

She is survived by her Children: Mike and Marcia Crowe, Bob and Tuk Crowe, and daughter, Mary Whitmire. Surviving Grandchildren are: Rob and Melissa, Maggi and Alex, Crystal and David, Melissa and Clayton, Kristie, Ely and Cali, and Tuey, as well as her adored Great Grandchildren: Brantlee, Maverick, Fiona, Nico and Savannah Jo.

Most recently, Mary Jo enjoyed her time at the Crestview Retirement Center, where she will be remembered for her social involvement and friendships with all. Through all the love that she shared, her kind heart will be remembered the most.

There will be a prayer service at 2pm Sunday, January 6, 2019, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan. Interment will follow at the Houston National VA Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station.

Condolences

  1. To the family
I was sorry to read of your loss. Death is difficult to endure regardless of our age, however we can find comfort from God’s word the Bible. It tells us that soon all those in the memorial tomb will come out by means of a resurrection.(John 5:28, 29). Until then, may you continue to keep Mary Jo’s memory warm in your hearts until you see her happy and healthy again one day

  2. Dear Cousins,
I was surprised to read of Aunt Mary Jo’s death. So sorry we lost touch so long ago. Wishing you good memories and the comfort of close family and friends.
    Best
    Mary Felice
