Marion “Earl” Oldham

August 11, 1950-March 20, 2019

Marion “Earl” Oldham, 68, of Bryan, TX, went home to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 20, 2019. Earl was born on August 11, 1950 in Port Lavaca, TX to his mother, Victoria Royder and grew up knowing he was well loved by his Mom, older sister, Sibby, and older brother, Bobby; making him the ‘Baby’. He didn’t grow up with a whole lot but from the sounds of their stories, they sure did make the best of it and seemed to always have an adventure of some kind at every turn. Earl served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and received the Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal during his two tours of Vietnam. Earl enjoyed staying busy and especially working with his hands. He owned and operated Earl’s Small Engine Repair until his retirement. Earl was loved by neighbors, customers, vendors, the folks at the grocery stores, the postal people, the doctors and even the nurses. He didn’t have a lot of people that he didn’t somehow leave a lasting impression upon. Earl will live in our memory and hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Victoria Royder; step-father, Horace Royder; and sister, Frances Lester.

Earl is survived by his children and their loving partners, Earl Oldham Jr. and his soul-mate, Belinda ‘Yen’, Chris Oldham and wife, Michelle, Terri Cochran and husband, Scott, Vicki McCleery and husband, Jason, and Tony Oldham; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brother, Bob Oldham and wife, Margaret Oldham; 4 nephews and 1 niece; and a host of loving extended family cousins and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any veteran organization or hospice of your choice.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 29th with the Celebration of Life Service to follow at 7 p.m. in the Bluebonnett Chapel of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers. Family and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday March 30th in Rest-Ever Memorial Park for the graveside service and inurnment. Father Bruce Chabot will be officiating. Military Honors will be provided at the cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.CallawayJones.com”
