Marilyn (McCorkle) Cunningham Timmons

Marilyn McCorkle Cunningham Timmons, 82, passed away September 1, 2010 in The Woodlands, Texas following a brief illness.
Marilyn was born January 5, 1928 in Elwood, Indiana to the late Mildred Safford) and Ival McCorkle.
Marilyn was a 1946 graduate of Wendall L. Wilkie High School in Elwood, Indiana. She worked at the Sweet Shoppe, Fettig Canning Factory and Cunningham Studios as a bookkeeper in Elwood, IN. She also worked selling Avon, Dairy Queen in Gas City and Standard Grocery in Marion, IN. Marilyn was also a Boy Scout Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader in the Gas City area. After retirement from Standard Grocery in Marion, IN she enjoyed being a devoted mother and grandmother to her family.
She is survived by her only son, Tony Tyone Cunningham, Jonesboro; daughters, Capri R. (Cunningham) and husband George Smith III, of Port Charlotte, Fla., Jyme L (Cunningham) McKenzie of Galveston, Texas and Sandi D. (Cunningham) and husband Raymond Yosko of Spring, Texas, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great granchild. brothers; Duane Colleen McCorkle, Michael Mick and wife Faye McCorkle; sisters; Eileen McCorkle and husband James Pore, Judy McCorkle and husband Jack Romine.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, mother, daughter, Candae L (Cunningham) Jones; two grandchildren; sisters; Ivalou McCorkle, Joreen (McCorkle) Delawter, brothers; Max McCorkle, Phillip McCorkle, David McCorkle, Tom McCorkle.
We celebrate her life that was filled with love and total dedication to her large family. She had the brightest smile, biggest heart and loved life so very much. She will be sadly missed.
There will be no services.
Marilyn’s contribution is continued through the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in College Station, Texas.

  4. Girls so sorry for the loss of your mother Marilyn. She was a great aunt and always had something nice to say when we talked. Knew there were hard times between her and Eddie, but she always treated me kindly. She was a lovely lady and will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathy

    I was so sorry to see that your Mom passed. I can’t imagine how you must feel.
    I hope you are all hanging in there and celebrating what a good Mom you had all
    these years. My wish to you is that you remember all the good times and good
    things she gave you. I know I have some good memories, back in the day. Of course
    we were all little kids then, but it sure was fun. Again, I’m sorry for your loss.

    I’m so sorry for your loss and know all too well the pain you are experiencing. May God hold you up and walk with you during this most troubling of times. Grandma was an absolutely beautiful woman who was always so full of life, love and laughter. May you cherish the memories that you hold near and dear to your heart.   7. Tony, Capri, Jyme Lee, Sam, My deepest sympathy to you all. I just read it of your Mom when I was trying to locate Capri to see how you were all doing..then to find out about Candae as well. I can relate to your lose, Mom passed in 2008. The wonderful memories of our childhood will always be there, all year round we were always coming up with different games & your Mom was amazing thru it all..
