Lillian Agnes Lewis died peacefully at CHI St. Joseph Manor on May 19, 2019, in Bryan, Texas at the age of 96. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Lillian is scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas with a reception to follow. Inurnment will be a later date in the Houston National Cemetery. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Lillian was born September 13, 1922 in Poteet, Texas. She graduated from Gonzales High School. Lillian enlisted in the Army Air Force, serving her country during WWII. She was honorably discharged at the rank of corporal in December of 1945. Lillian devoted her married life to raising her two children to the best of her ability,  in Houston, Texas. She retired to Ingram, Texas and spent many happy years in her beloved Texas Hill Country. She was a long-time member of Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, a member of the West Kerr County Chamber of Commerce and volunteer at the Butt-Holdsworth Memorial Library and St. Vincent de Paul Society. Lillian was an avid reader and enjoyed tutoring reading to local children. She loved to travel. She will be remembered for her strong faith and personal convictions.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Vlasek of Hunt, Texas; siblings John, Joe, Ed, Adolph, Frank and Margaret Vlasek and Mary Green. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Lewis and her partner Steve Baum of Bryan; her sister Ann Chapman of Katy, Texas, Son Edward Lewis;  and grandchildren; Kyra and Lars Lewis of Arden, North Carolina; her brothers George and Louis Vlasek of Hunt, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Hospice Brazos Valley in Bryan, Texas or Notre Dame Catholic Church in Kerrville, Texas.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Crestview Assisted Living, CHI St. Joseph and Hospice Brazos Valley for their dedication to her care.
