June 2, 1934 – July 15, 2015

Lakie Barresi, 81, of Bryan, passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 15, 2015. A visitation will begin at 1:30pm followed by graveside service at 2pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 in Bryan City Cemetery. Life Tribute Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Lakie was born to Charles and Sally (Snodgrass) Herron on June 2, 1934 in Appalachia, Virginia. She studied diligently to complete high school and college both by the age of 21. Lakie was a dedicated employee as an Administrative Secretary and Stenographer for many years. She served as private secretary to Carl Bernstein and Eric Holdeman, of the Washington Post, who broke the story of Watergate during the Nixon Administration. She retired as a Certified Public Accountant from Xerox Corporation after thirty-three years. Her first love in the world was her daughter Lillie Faye. She devoted much of her time and encouragement to Lillie. She was blessed with grandchildren whom she adored. She was Methodist in faith.

Her granddaughter Christina Massey-Carter; her parents, precede her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Lillie Faye Massey; her granddaughter Sheri Massey; her great-grandchildren Cody Bair James Massey and Charles Edward Carter.
