Kimberly Anela Lynn Lai, 39, of Bryan, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, March 17, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, in the Chapel of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home. A memorial service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at First Baptist Church in Bryan with Brother Bill Wiman and Brother John Free officiating.
Kimberly was born December 24, 1971 to Karen and Melvin Lai in Louisville, Ky. Kimberly was a graduate of Bryan High School’s class of 1994. She was a member of First Baptist church of Bryan since 1979, and was a member of the special education Sunday school class since 1985. Kimberly was a client of the former MHMR workshop on Washington Street in Bryan from 1994 until 2006.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Dorothy Lai of Hilo, Hawaii, Arvil Young O’ Bryant of Louisville, Ky., and Mildred Lee Lowry of Leitchfield, Ky.
Kimberly is survived by her parents, Karen and Melvin Lai of Bryan; sister, Melissa Gibson of Bryan and her sons, Ross and Aaron; brother, Alan and wife, Sandy, of Austin and their daughter, Anela; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
