Kim Danette Ballenger, 55, of Austin, Texas, formerly of College Station, joined her dad, Darrell Ballenger Sr. in heaven on Friday September 4, 2015 at 2:30P.M.

A Life Tribute Memorial will be held at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2402 South College Ave at 2pm, Thursday, September 10, 2015 with visitation beginning at 1:30pm.

Kim was an oncology/neurology RN at Brackenridge Trauma Hospital since 2008, and received two Daisy Awards from her patients for outstanding service. She completed her Masters degree in Nursing Education in May 2015. Kim deeply loved her family and friends and her three dogs. Kims’ compassion for others was unmatched, she was always willing to help and offer advice. Kim was a Methodist in faith.

Kim was preceded in death by her dad Darrell Ballenger Sr., her grandmother Lela Budwine, aunt Johnnie Ballenger and cousin Brandy McNeill.

She is survived in death by her mother Peggy Ballenger of College Station, brother Danny Porter and wife Stephanie of Keller, TX, brother Darrell Ballenger Jr. of College Station, aunt Patsy Williams of Millican, TX, aunt Shirley Willoughby of Center, TX, two nieces Lauren and Madison Ballenger of College Station, numerous cousins, soul-mate Lawrence Briones, and her beloved dogs Roscoe, Taco, and Remmy.

Memorial donations are asked to be given in Kim’s Memory to SPCA of Texas, ATTN: Development, 2400 Lone Star Drive, Dallas, Texas 75212

  3. a few years ago we went to lake Jackson tex for Christmas where bud and Lela lived. Had a great time it was great to see her. I had to go to the er with a wisdom tooth issue on Christmas Eve. And then on Christmas night kim had to go to the er with a issue. I did not see kim but only a few times because of the miles between us. We got to be a big happy family at Christmas. We were sec cusions she will be always alive in our hearts by the Mccaleb family in Harrison Arkansas
