Johnny Turner

Johnny was born and raised in Bay City, Texas. In 1972, he enlisted in the US Air Force for 6 years. After being honorable discharged, Johnny began his career with Amoco Production, later known as Apache Corporation.

He met his lovely wife Debbie on a blind date and they have been married for over 44 years. They are blessed with 2 wonderful children, Kristin and Andy, and their spouses, and 5 beautiful grandchildren.

In 1989, Amoco transferred the Turner family to Bryan College Station. Johnny finally retired after 43 years of work for Apache Corporation. He joined the compassionate team and family at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home 2 years after retirement.

“I enjoy my role at Callaway-Jones because I enjoy helping people. My wife says I have the gift of gab and have never met a stranger. In my work at Callaway-Jones, visiting with family members and guests are a true passion of mine. I feel like I can help them even if only for just a few minutes during such an emotional time. My goal in life is to make at least one person smile or laugh every day.”
