John Wesley Sarver, 74, of Bryan, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 4 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. A memorial service is scheduled for 11am on Tuesday, September 9 at Church of the Nazarene on East William Joel Bryan. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.
John was born to Joseph and Mary Sarver on May 27, 1940 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He worked for GTE/Verizon for 30 plus years before retiring. He then worked 10 years with the Brazos County Sherriff’s Department as a jailer and retired from there.
John was active in his church as Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and served at two churches as a minister. He and his first wife Diane were active in the Republican Party. He coached Home School Basketball for several years. He sang in a quartet.
John is preceded in death by his parents; a brother Thomas; a sister Fannie; and his first wife Diane.
He leaves behind his wife Cynthia; his children Theresa Sarver, Joseph Sarver, John Michael and his wife Jennifer Ruth Sarver, Sarah Stephens, Rachel and Tim Davis, Jennifer Jean and husband Shawn Morse, Paul Sarver; three step-sons Steve, Chad, and Scott and wife Kelly Swigert; seventeen grandchildren and great-grand children.

Mr. Sarver helped coach a homeschool basket ball team years ago that my son was on. We so appreciated the opportunity it gave our son, Kyle to be part of a team.
