JoeAnn McCool, 80, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at her residence. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at Park Cemetery in Madisonville.
JoeAnn was born on March 30, 1933 in Smackover, Arkansas. She lived in Bryan since 1979, was in real estate sales and was a member of the Bryan United Pentecostal Church. JoeAnn was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years and served as Past Worthy Matron. She loved animals and owned Downtown Petland, a dog grooming service, for the past 25 years. She had many other hobbies as well, being an avid artist, gardener, seamstress and interior designer.
JoeAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip G. McCool; parents, Rule Edward Davis and Ethel Fautheree Jones; son-in-law, Jimmy Wayne Gaylord and daughter-in-law, Sheila Mae Davis.
Survivors include daughters, Frances Marie Morgan and husband, Larry, of Franklin, Peggy Ann Gaylord, of Joelton, Tennessee; sons, David Joearl Davis, Sr., of Bryan, Joseph Andrew Porter and wife, Tracy, of Lake Limestone; step-daughter, Mary Jo McCool, of Bryan; stepson, Denny L. McCool, of Madison, Wisconsin; brother, Eddie Jones and wife, Valerie, of Decatur, Alabama; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Sorry for the family’s loss. We have always admired her fight and spirit
for life, her devotion to her family , and her many talents. May she rest
in peace without pain and enjoy the great beyond.
