James Jones

James Jones

James Jones was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. From a young age he always felt he had a calling to the funeral profession due to personal loss of family he had as a child. After high school, he attended Amarillo Community College and graduated from the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in 1999. He worked at Rector Funeral Home in Amarillo and Cook-Walden Funeral home in Austin before moving to Anchorage, Alaska.

In 2006, James began working at Legacy Funeral Homes in Anchorage. From 2009 to 2012, he worked at the Alaska State Medical Examiner’s Office as the Forensic Operations Supervisor. James returned to Legacy Funeral Homes in 2012 because he missed working directly with families and arranging funerals. He worked with Legacy Funeral Homes until relocating to Bryan College Station. He loved Alaska but has always wanted to come back home to Texas.

James is married to Melissa Jones and has three children, Trinity, Troy and Jayli and a dog named Kane. He loves watching movies and sports, hiking, camping, traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He considers himself lucky to have the opportunity to assist families during a difficult time of loss.
