Hillie Dene Sims

Hillie Dene Sims, 56, of Bryan, passed away in his home on February 19. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, February 23, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hillie requested that his body be cremated upon his death. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Hillie Sims was born to Harrol and Ruth Ann Hobbs. Upon high school graduation Hillie joined the Army. He served his country honorably. Hillie was employed with Texas Voting Systems. His hobbies included building computers, remote control cars. He really enjoyed watching car races and old movies. He liked music of all kinds. Hillie especially loved his pet cats.

Preceding him in death are his father, Harrol Sims; step-father, Bill McLeod; half-sister Carlotta Barrow.

Hillie is survived by his very special friend, Patricia Earle, of College Station; step-daughter, Ashleigh Swanson, of Brenham, Texas; his mother, Ruth Ann Hobbs McLeod, of Bryan; his sister, Cynthia Clark Mahan and husband Troy, of Snook; three brothers, Martin Sims, of College Station; William “Bill” Sims, of Cooks Point; Robert “Bob” Sims, of Bryan; his step-brothers Brad McLeod and Bill McLeod, of Little Rock, Arkansas; step-sister Debbie McLeod, of Savannah, Georgia; his uncle, Billy Hobbs, of Plattsmouth, Nebraska; and his many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or to Hospice Brazos Valley, Bryan, TX 77803.
