Harold “Gabe” Broussard

May 20, 1950 – May 09, 2019

Harold “Gabe” Broussard, 68, of Caldwell went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 9, 2019. He was born on May 20, 1950 in Houston to his parents, Lloyd and LaNell Broussard. Gabe grew up in Cypress and was a graduate of Waller High School. He attended Sam Houston University and began a career in construction. Gabe owned and operated Gabe’s Construction Company for 20 years. He was a master-craftsman and took great pride in his work. Gabe had a passion for ranching and the rodeo. Gabe met his wife, Gail, while team roping and continued their lives together competing in countless rodeos together. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and his grandchildren. Gabe will be missed by numerous friends who will fondly remember the way he showed his care for them through taunting and humor. He was a strong-willed man and his legacy will live on in his children and the memories that they share.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jackie Brown; grandson, Jody Broussard; and father-in-law, Marvin Burns.

Gabe is survived by his wife, Gail Broussard; sons, Toby and wife, Dana Broussard, and Cody and wife, April Broussard; grandchildren, Kodie Jo, Brodie, Braden, Tandie, Hailey, and Connor Broussard; great-grandson, Brazos Broussard; mothers-in-law, Monnette Bednorz and Georgie Burns; nephews, Gary, Clay, and Chad Kowalski; the mother of his children, Judy Gail Benge; aunts, Lucille Anderson and Edith Smith; and a host of extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 25th at Elizabeth Lutheran Church, 165 Co Rd 307, Caldwell, TX 77836. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.
