The life of Gilbert Camacho is filled with many chapters. He learned early in life what it meant to be a hard worker and help provide for his family. It was a trait that became a part of his life that without him knowing would be passed down to his children. Gilbert was a provider in more ways than could be counted. Whether it was financial, or something as simple as giving you half of his burger and fries. He was compelled to share what he could and what he had to those in need. For it was the heart he was blessed with. Though Gilbert faced many difficult trials in life, he never lost his faith. It was his strength alone that allowed him to overcome every obstacle that came his way. His faith in the Lord was an inspiration to many. When Gilbert wasn’t busy being the ultimate family man, you could often find him outside tending to his yard, making BBQ, listening to some of his favorite oldies, building birdhouses, watching the SyFy channel and WWE, playing video games, and spending time with his family. He cherished the roles that God blessed him with. One, in particular, was the role of being a loving husband to his wife Sylvia of 43 years. Making memories meant the world to him. Gilbert was a man of faith, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Though this book on his life has closed, his legacy will remain forever.

His parents, Matilda Soto Camacho and Jovencio Camacho Sr.; his daughter, Diana Camacho; his brothers, Robert “Bobby” Camacho, and Jovencio Camacho Jr.; sister, Mary Serna; all precede him in death.

Gilbert is survived by his wife, Syliva Hernandez Camacho; his children from his previous marriage, Corina and husband Joe Abila, Elva Gutierrez, Gilbert Camacho Jr, Annie Camacho, Christina and husband Paul Garcia; children from his present marriage, John Gilbert Camacho, Denise and Roger Cook, and Bobby Lee Camacho; his brothers, Richard Camacho, and Michael Camacho; his sisters, Martha Camacho, Dora Mendez, Louisa Morin, and Nora Bauz; his nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and other relatives and close friends.
