Geraldine “Gerry” Laster Ray
September 22, 1940 – November 19, 2018

Gerry Ray, 78, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2018, in College Station. A graveside service honoring her life will be held at 3pm, Friday, November 23, 2018, at the College Station Memorial Cemetery, 3800 Raymond Stotzer Parkway, College Station, Texas. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station.

Gerry was born to Oren Nathaniel “O.N.”and Vernice Hairston Laster in Snyder, Texas, on September 22, 1940. Our mother was a devout daughter to her parents and to her sister Helen Jo. She met and married Billy Don Ray; whom she shared close to sixty-one years of marriage this December. Gerry was a doting grandmother who loved unconditionally. She made numerous quilts for her grandchildren to share with their future families out of her love for them. Mother was an excellent cook and baker; the holidays were always filled with the aroma of fresh baked goods in her home. She was the essence of scripture where the lady made her house into a home. Her Baptist Faith was her true foundation in life.

Her parents, and brother in-law, Travis “Tab” Stubblefield, all precede her in death.

Gerry is survived by her husband, Billy Ray; her daughter, Cathy and husband Shane Sperry, of Bryan, her son, Greg and wife Lynn Ray, of The Woodlands, Texas; her sister Helen “Joey” Stubblefield, of Colorado City, Texas; her grandchildren Bennett Ray and Russell and Michael Sperry; her great-grandchildren Jackson, Cole, Wyatt, Kate, Evan, and Clara; as well as many dear nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Honoring Gerry as pallbearers are her son Greg Ray; her son in law Shane Sperry, and her grandsons Russell Sperry, Michael Sperry, Bennett Ray, and Evan Goehring.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all honorariums go to the American Cancer Society at the following address cancer.org
