You Are Invited! —Join Us for the Senior Expo, May 18th

Seniors Expo

Seniors ExpoWe look forward to seeing longtime friends, and meeting new friends, this Wednesday, May 18th, at the Senior Expo. Please join us in the Exhibit Hall at the Brazos County Expo Center from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Callaway-Jones’s co-owner Lorene Jones will be there to welcome you and share updated, innovative ways of creating exactly the memorial service that you will want.

We mean it when we ask you, “How do YOU want to be remembered?” It’s your life; these are your choices. There’s peace and comfort in looking at your options long before you will need to have them in motion. You plan ahead for vacations, for retirement income, and for the purchase of a long-term home. It gives you a sense of well-being to know there is a plan in place, when you don’t need it, so that your family will be aware of your choices.

Next to us, please visit Donna Graff at Pet Legacies by Callaway-Jones. The loss of a beloved pet is felt deeply by all who love them. We offer the area’s only local cremation facility for pets. Donna will share with you the respectful and loving ways we provide loving final care for your pets.

One thing you will find when you visit our booths at the Senior Expo fair is that we are the same people you’ve known and trusted here for six decades as we are all family. It’s friends greeting friends, not someone tentatively approaching a funeral home booth and not wanting to really, truly think about “what’s ahead.” The role of your family’s funeral director is one that has been the ongoing focus of my family for five generations. Longevity in this business is a value we offer to you. You know us and you trust us.

We are here supporting our community in many ways. Whether it’s as part of my service as a member of the Bryan Rotary Club, you see me in good times as well as in sad times. If Chelsea and I are sitting in a pew next to you in church on Sunday morning, we sit together seeking faith and comfort from a source we look to, together.

My mother, Lorene Jones, is an amazing lady. She’s very modest but I want to brag on her for a moment. When my father died, far too early for any of us to be accepting willingly that fact, we were comforted, anchored, supported and grounded in many things. First, we were all a caring, loving family able to express our emotions. So many people think funeral directors have the perfect ability to suppress our feelings. We don’t. We are exactly the same as you are when it comes to personal loss.

But after five generations now, of family visiting with family, of showing by examples, directly and indirectly, on how to be strong for others, we’ve become stronger ourselves. We know what it’s like to grieve. But no, we are not bereavement specialists, but yes, we know exactly what it’s like to grieve and how you need to be respected, heard, and provided with the answers to your questions in a respectful, caring manner. It’s the way we have always treated you.

The Callaway-Jones family is, as we have always been, a group of professional businesspeople who offer the exact same feeling of comfort when you walk in as a person entirely new to us or whether our families have known each other for years.

Perhaps you have no immediate family and you are coming in to look at plans, now, to make sure your wishes are carried out and, frankly, to save money by planning ahead, so you can have peace of mind that you are set for the ultimate future and final decisions about life. You may not know us when you walk in the door, but we listen to you, and we want to hear what you want. When you’ve spent time with us, we’ll both know each other better.

We’ve been honored when you contact us for information after you’ve attended one of our funerals. We appreciate your faith and confidence in us. Your trust is the greatest gift you offer and we honor your gift.

We offer you choices because we are flexible. Callaway-Jones now offers wonderful, new options that enable us to be as nontraditional as you might wish to be. We have several new offerings for 21st century funerals that, frankly, are ahead of their time. Millennials, Generation Xers, Baby Boomers, frequently want something new and different that generations before them. In coming weeks, you’ll hear more about these.

Yet, we are as traditional and experienced in honoring the lives of Veterans in traditional Military Funerals, with burial in the Aggie Field of Honor or in your family’s country place. We have two special things to share with you when you come to the Senior Expo Center on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  We’re not loud. We’re not flashy. We’re family helping family, and we are here for you. Come see Lorene and Donna; they look forward to seeing you.
