Charlie C. Hernandez, 74, of Bryan, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2009. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan. Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Bryan with Rev. Jeff Gage officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Charlie was born in Wheelock, Texas. Later he moved to the Houston area to do concrete work. In his retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and auto mechanics. Charlie was dearly loved by all of his friends and nursing personnel at Sherwood Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lala, his parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include his two sons and daughters-in-law, Paula and Charlie Hernandez, Jr. of Houston, Texas, Joe and Christine Hernandez of Lumberton, North Carolina; adopted son, Noe Aguilera of Houston, Texas; sisters and son-in-law, Lupe H. and Johnny Ruiz, and Josephine Saenz, all of Bryan, Texas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Pablo Hernandez, Sam and Barbara Hernandez, Moses and Virginia Hernandez, all of Bryan, Texas and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT. BUT, WE KNOW THAT SOMEDAY WE WILL SEE THEM AGAIN.
