Dorothy Isbell Hille, 91, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2007
at Sherwood Health Care in Bryan, Texas.
Visitation will be Saturday July 21, 2007 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Victory Church, College Station, Texas with a memorial service following at 10:30 AM at the church. A graveside service will be at 4:00 PM at Bethany Cemetery near Colmesneil, Texas.
Dorothy was born in Ellis County Texas to Mary Elizabeth and Charles Adon Isbell. After graduating from high school she attended North Texas University and graduated with a degree in Elementary Education at the age of 20. She obtained a Master’s degree from the University of Houston. Dorothy taught public school for 39 years, most of which was in Port Arthur, Texas. In addition to teaching, she was Assistant Principal during the later part of her career. She was awarded Teacher of the Year by her peers and was a long time member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
After retiring and moving to Tyler County, she devoted her time and love to her church, First Baptist Church of Colmesneil, Texas. Teaching her Sunday school class was one of the joys of her life.
Her parents, two brothers, three sisters and her husband, Robert O. Hille, preceded Dorothy in death.
Her son, Robert Benton Hille and wife Becky, her grandson, Robert B. Hille, II and wife Tracey and four great grandchildren survive her. Survivors also include one sister, Faye Reed, of Midlothian, Texas, who just celebrated her 100th birthday, and a number of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
