February 25, 1927 – April 29, 2019

Charles Joseph Carson, Sr., 92, died peacefully Monday, April 29, 2019 after a brief admittance to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center, College Station. A memorial graveside service will be at 1:30 pm, Monday, May 6, 2019, at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas. Cremation services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers, Bryan-College Station

Charles was born in Moundsville, West Virginia, February 25, 1927 to his parents, William and Mary Carson. He served in the U.S. Army following W.W.II as a finance clerk rising to Corporal.

Moving to Dallas in 1962, he attended Metropolitan Technical Institute, the first major business school in Dallas. He was subsequently employed by Taylor Publishing Co. as an Account Executive. A later interest in clock and watch repair led to establishing Carson Watch Service of Dallas.

He was a life-long reader and avid Bible student. While a resident of Waldenbrooke Estates, in Bryan he faithfully taught a Bible Study/Sunday School class. He and his wife, Aleta, were members of First Baptist Church of Bryan as well as the First Church of the Nazarene in Dallas.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Aleta, 2012; step-grandson, Christopher, 2012; and great-granddaughter, Michael Mae, 2017.

Surviving family members include son, Charles. Jr., (Margaret) of Trinity, FL; daughter, Mary of Dallas; step-daughter, Sandra (George) Adams of Austin; step-daughter, Evelyn Darden of Lewisville; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
