Catherine Moore Thornton


Cathy Thornton, 55, of The Woodlands, TX, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on April 13, 2018.  Cathy was born in Pasadena, TX, on December 26, 1962.

Survivors include her beloved sons Ben and Jack Thornton of The Woodlands, TX;  her loving mother Rosemary Moore of Bryan, TX;  devoted sisters Dana Tarver (Bill) of The Woodlands, TX;  and Marsa McKee (Doug) of Bryan, TX;  nieces and nephews that adored her include Stacey, Abby, Justin and Andy;  great-niece Catherine and great-nephew Ryan.

Cathy treasured her role as a mother and always knew that her greatest legacy was in this gift she gave her sons Ben and Jack.  All who knew Cathy appreciated her sweet and kind demeanor to everyone she encountered in her life.

A celebration of Cathy’s life will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan, TX, 3001 S. College Ave. with Certified Life Celebrant Dawn Lee Wakefield officiating.  A reception will follow and all family and friends are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of memorial in Cathy’s name to the Arthritis Foundation (www.arthritis.org).  The family would also like to thank the ICU staff at Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands for their outstanding care and concern for Cathy.

  1. I am sorry for your loss. When our children were young we spent a lot of time together. Cathy was a good friend for many years.

  5. She was a sweetheart all through school. Now she’s an angel and still a sweetheart. My condolences and prayers for the family for strength and peace. She will no longer have the pain. She will be missed.

  6. Cathy was one of my favorite playmates. Talked me through several tough times and great times. I will miss the chance to pick up the phone and share a memory.
