Please accept Kathi’s and my deepest sympathy over the loss of Miss Carolyn. Kathi and I both think of you and her as our surrogate parents. We will miss the jokes, gripes about the Rangers and Astros, and the wisdom she shared with us for over 15 years. She is missed but we both share in the hope that she is in a better place without pain.

  8. I will dearly miss Miss Carolyn. My fondest memories were our late night baseball games on ESPN and theological discussions during all the nights I was doing my research at the house. She always made me feel at home, and both yall took me in as one of your own. She always told me what I needed to hear, no matter if I wanted to hear it or not and taught me alot about myself. Our discussions about God and His son, our Savior Jesus was always something I will cherish and pass on to my children. I hear her voice and laughter even now. The last time I was there, she taught me to make pea salad her way and I still have that recipe. My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. O and the family. Love yall…Ryan Kirkpatrick

  15. Dr. Olson, I was saddened to hear the news about Carolyn. I got word from Bryan Heintschel currently deployed in Afghanistan. Although I had not had the chance to meet her personally, the conversations I had with her on the phone over the past few years lets me know that we have lost a wonderfully caring person. All the military entos I know coming from ATM over the past 10 years speak highly of Carolyn, and I hear more loving sea stories about her than I do you. You have Charlotte and my deepest sympathies and prayers. She will be sorely missed. VR, Steven and Charlotte Rankin

  16. You are in my thoughts and prayers. The smiles Ms. Carolyn left me from the backyard of Jill’s old house are a memory I truly cherish.

  17. We never knew Miss Carolyn very well but the times we did share were full of smiles and she always treated us as if we were old friends. She will be greatly missed and our heart and prayers go out to the ones she has left behind. May God give you strength through this loss. I only hope that Christina and I can have the love and happiness that Miss Carolyn and Dr. Olson shared with one another.

  19. Rob and family

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your mother………We can find hope in knowing that she has gone on to be with the Lord and someday we all can see her.

    May God bless you all,

    Steve Humphrey and family

  20. Rob is a co-worker and friend. We talked about our parents often. I knew that his mother was ill, and god blessed him with the ability to spend some quality time with her before he took her. I know that this is hard for the whole family and words are just words that can’t heal the pain that your family is suffering without their mother, sister, grandmother, etc…. My hope is that these words of condolence help is some small way. God will never put more on you than you can bear. Vanessa A. Daugherty SECRA

  21. Dr. Olson, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You and Carolyn made me feel like part of your family and I treasure the times you let this Longhorn into Aggie land. I am so sad I cannot be in Texas for the service. Just know I am praying for you and your family. Kathy

  22. Jimmy,
You and your family are in our thoughts. Peace to you all.
