Camilla Godfrey

Camilla Baccus Godfrey
April 27, 1944 – March 14, 2019

Camilla Baccus Godfrey was born April 27, 1944 in Brenham, Texas to Alvarene Milligan Baccus and returned to her Lord on March 14, 2019. A celebration of her life will be held on March 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm at her home.

Camilla grew up in Somerville. She went through school there, with her mother teaching her half of fourth grade and English one year in high school. Camilla and “the eight” loved Somerville it was the idyllic place to grow up in. Great for wandering the streets in the middle of a slumber party, knowing where the best Halloween treats could be found and……… While life took her away from Somerville it always remained in her heart. Then when the opportunity arose she moved her family home. She and husband Gerry together raised three wonderful children David, Amanda, and April and was blessed through marriage with LaNette and Darrell. She also has four amazing grandchildren Katie and her husband Kelly, Kolbie, Kwincie, and Zona. Sister Donna and her husband Rick Hill also survive her and nieces Lexi Hill and Misti Hill Carter and Misti’s family husband Eric and sons Jack and Mason. Her extended family and friends will miss Camilla.

Take comfort in knowing she’s in a better place without pain and breathing problems she running streets of gold. Continued prayers for Your family during this time

  2. No one else like you! That sums it up about you, Camilla. I love you and have gotten close to you in the last 8 months I’ve worked for you. And have learned a lot from you and learned more in cooking lol. I feel lost at the moment good friend. I would have loved one more day to work with you and make that run to Walmart, grab a bite to eat, maybe even grab an icee. Or taking care of the plants, letting chickens out, feed cats, filling up the water…… so many more todos. Just wish I had one more of those days to help you and give you the hug that I never got to give you to say goodbye.

  3. April, Mandy, and David…….please be assured you all are in our thoughts and prayers as you draw on inner strength to find some measure of acceptance and peace during this most difficult time. Besides the nurturing and love your Mother gave you from birth, know in your hearts and be thankful for the legacy of strength she molded into each of you.
Camilla was without question one of the strongest persons I’ve ever known. Never succumbing to threats or fears, she walked thru this world with head held high and focusing on the positive, particularly the love she had for her family.
Camilla we all will miss you and think of you often.. God speed !!!
