Billy Burford was born on August 22, 1930, in Houston to Virgil and Mabel Reich Burford. Billy met and married the love of his life Clara Mae Clark and together they shared 71 years of marriage. At an early age he developed a strong work ethic and had a deep commitment to himself for his family and for his country. He served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War where he became a POW and received the Purple Heart. Billy was a proud over-the-road truck driver for 60 years and retired from Alenco after 36 years. Billy enjoyed his career as a truck driver where he experienced many of the beautiful God created sun rises and sun sets and had the opportunity to explore most of the United States. After several days on the road when he returned home, he enjoyed being with his family, working on projects in his shop, and taking walks with Bingle along the property line. These walks often allowed him to reflect on the many blessings God has given him, especially the blessings of family.

His parents precede him in death.

Billy is survived by his beloved wife, Clara Burford; his sons Billy and wife Beverly Burford, and Jerry Burford; Billy’s grandchildren Jeremy and wife Susanne Burford, and Jerry Duane Burford; his three great grandchildren, Collin, Ian, Dylan; his brothers Harold and wife Linda Burford, Robert and wife Doris Burford; his sister-in-law Irene Kizer.
