Billie Ruth Boatcallie, 81, of Bryan, passed away in her home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015. It was Billie Ruth’s desire to be cremated. A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:30 pm at St. Michael’s Academy Chapel, 2402 South College Ave, Bryan. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral Home and Crematory.

Billie Ruth was born to the late Willie and Ruth McDonald Boatcallie in Houston, Texas. She enjoyed life in her own unique, non-traditional manner. Her deep compassion and love for animals was evident as she fostered and adopted many dogs, cats, and even monkeys during her life.

She is survived by her beloved pets Tootie, Bub, and Jay, a multitude of relatives, including loving aunts, uncles, and cherished cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Aggieland Humane Society, 5259 Leonard Road, Bryan, Texas 77807.

  1. When I think of Billie, I think of love, joy, appreciation, courage and heart. She was full of life, full of spirit…that and much more. I know she is living..just in another dimension. We lit a candle for her tonight, Life is short. Live like Billie.

  2. Billie was a very unique person and had a unique way of looking at life. I truly enjoyed listening to her stories and her beliefs. She was kind, generous and funny. I am sorry that I hadn’t seen her in a number of years.

    My sincere condolences to her her family and friends.
