  1. My Aunt Nell was my mother’s sister. She was always there as a child, until she married and raised a family of her own. Picnics, back yard get togethers, even living with my mom and dad for a while. I loved summers at her house, I would bring a favorite record, out at the time and sing and dance to it…We were a mess..I think it was a song called,”Running Bear”. It’s amazing what you remember at times like these. I loved spending time with my cousins, drinking out of water hoses and anything else we could do without messing up her kitchen. I remember in particular Christmas of 1975. She shared her favorite pecan pie recipe with me, shortly after getting home that night, we got a special phone call that our baby girl had been born. Great Christmas memories with my Grandmother, Aunt Nell, Uncle Johnny, my Husband Billy, Joe, Karen and Lynette. We lost Grandpa and my Mom that year. I would spend many days with her, taking my daughter to see her before they moved to Bryan. Time would go by too quickly, as it has been said, “time flies quickly the older we get”. As it has and will continually do. Sweet memories all tied up in pink satin ribbon tied in a beautiful bow. We can reminisce about all the good things and forget about the things that were not so proundly remembered. Time does heal any and all wounds….if given enough time. My Mother’s family is gone…my cousins and I will continue until such time that we leave this earth for our Heavenly Home that Jesus has prepared for us. Please pray for us as we go through this loss, we will need each other through this. Thank you for all the kind words and memories you will share with us..they will be remembered as we heal. We will all meet again one day if we love and trust in Jesus…….love you Aunt Nell…… Sheryle Ann

    • My mother was blessed to have a kind niece, full of life and spirituality as you Sheryl Ann. She truly enjoyed hearing from you during her elder years, as well. My mother shared many of those lengthy conversations, you two had, with me. She was always happy after speaking to you. You kept her abreast on her relatives in Giddings, and other relatives that were very important to my mother. She was always eager to share the good news me and my siblings. Unfortunately, we did not make it to Giddings this time, like she wished, and visit our relatives. It weighs heavy on my heart, because I told her I would take her one day soon, but that day passed us by. I want to say thank you Sheryl Ann for being part of my mother’s life in her elder years when she needed a friend, company and good conversation to brighten her days! She loved your mother, and her only sister, (Lillie Mae), dearly and spoke of her not to long ago. They are together now, surrounded by angels, blowing us hugs and kisses from the heavens above, in pure perfect peace…All my love and prayers, Lynette Marino

  2. I met mama Marino when I was 14 years old. I am childhood best friends with Lynette. From the first time I met Mama Marino she has always held a very special place in my heart.
I am deeply sorry for your loss. I know how deeply she will be missed by her family and friends.
I pray that God can give you comfort and peace during this very difficult time. Lynette, Karen and Joe, I pray you keep her legacy alive with all the things she loved the most.
Cara, Christa and Ciara, I love you with all my heart. Remember all the good times with grandma.❤️
Lynette, I am more than your best friend, I’m your sister, I love you and I’m here for anything you need.
RIP Mama Marino, give papa Marino a great big hug.
