James “Jimmy” William Leland, 74, of Bryan, Texas passed away on October 20, 2022  at his home in the presence of his children and grandchildren after a diagnosis of cancer.

Jimmy was born in Houston on September 28, 1948, but grew up in Austonio, Texas.  After graduating from Lovelady High School, he served in the United States Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.  After attending TSTI in Waco Jimmy began his business, All Seasons AC & Refrigeration.  He served the Bryan/College Station area as owner/operator for nearly 40 years.

He leaves behind his children, Ryan Leland of Austonio, Melissa Leland of Austonio and Cherylin Leland of Huntsville.  Grandchildren Colin Drummond, Cassidy Drummond, Alison Drummond, and Juniper Leland.  Ben Vasilescu, who Jimmy was friend and mentor to and was like a son.  Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many beloved cousins who share happy memories of childhood days at his maternal grandparents’ home in Buffalo, Texas.

Jimmy enjoyed fishing, boating, music, and any project involving his Kubota tractor.  He was involved with The ARC of Bryan/College Station, AWANA and One Hope.  His home church was A&M Church of Christ, but he was also involved in various churches and their activities throughout the community.  Jimmy, James to most in Bryan, never missed an opportunity to share his faith and would pray with anyone who would let him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pat Hughes and brother, Ronald Leland.  He is survived by brother and best friend, Dennis Leland and wife Debbie of Austonio.  Sister, Sonja Hughes Jones and Rick of Montgomery.  Sister-in-law, Loyce Leland of Austonio.

A memorial service will be held at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan on October 29, 2022, at 10 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to; Patriot Paws, Tunnels to Towers, or any organization benefiting veterans.
