March 4, 1977 ~ May 14, 2021

Born in: Wurzburg, Germany
Resided in: College Station, Texas

David loved the whole world. Along with the expert care he gave to his family and friends, he shared a piece of himself with each stranger he met. A man full of service. David was willing to do whatever it took to make everyone around him feel special and cared for. A light in the darkness. David always had a smile to give, a joke to tell, food to cook, and a laugh to share.

David Malcolm Williams died May 14, 2021.  Services will be held for David’s celebration of life at Grace Bible Church, 700 Anderson St, College Station TX 77845, at 1:30 pm, Friday, May 21, 2021.

David was born to Karen Williams and Malcolm Williams in Wurzburg, Germany, March 4th, 1977. After living all over the world, he found his way to College Station, TX. here he found his lifemate Staci Grelle. They married May 29, 1999. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Agricultural Development, and raised three punk kids, who are rad and completely amazing. David loved to be in the middle of everything.  He was invested in his people”s lives.   David coached CSSC soccer, Little League baseball and city basketball for all his kids.  He worked concessions at theater shows and cooked for football players.   He was a deacon and supported the missionaries of Grace Bible Church.  David loved exploring new places and going on great adventures. Travel often went along with supporting his kids or friends.  You could always find him in the kitchen or at his smoker making 50 pounds of food to share with literally anyone and everyone. Feeding us with food and with his spirit, David lived a life dedicated to the livelihood of his people.

David loved his family endlessly. They were always his number one priority. He never missed an event, always cheered them on and purposefully embarrassed them in public. He truly gave them everything. He always said that they were his world and that made him happy. His one hobby, and favorite thing to do, was to cook. And man did he do that well. He smoked every kind of barbeque, he baked his own bread until it was perfected, and created meals out of seemingly nothing. His ability to create a meal was honestly an artform. David knew the name to every single bird, and you could always count on him to know the answer to a question, even if it was made up. He loved them so well.

David is survived by his wife Staci, his son Christopher (Paco), and his daughters Emma (Boots) and Amelia (Midge), his parents, his maternal grandmother, Janet Roland of Rochester, NY, his sisters and brothers, Taralynn and Scott Gruwell of Rochester, MN, Lara and Josh Pruett of College Station, and Kimberly and Daniel Shuck of Cypress, family on his wife’s side of the family Marvin and Karen Grelle and brother Brent and Christy Grelle of Clifton. David was the fun uncle “Funcle” to Riley and Boston Jarman, Spencer and Eddie Gruwell, Braedan, Zoey, Emersyn, and Ryan Shuck, Jace, Johnathan, Joseph, and Audrey Pruett, and Samantha and Jacob Grelle. He will be missed by a large number of extended family and friends, as well as the bacon suppliers of America.

    • May the Lord wrap his arms around his family, give them strength, understanding and love, now and in the days, weeks and months to come. So sad to hear of his passing. Praying for his family.

  1. We are so heartbroken to hear of David’s passing. May the peace of Christ surround the Williams family during this time of mourning. Praying for comfort, wisdom, & strength in the coming days, weeks, & months.

  2. David brought so much light to any room he was in,hearing of his passing felt like all the air was sucked out of the room I was in. My heart aches for the loss of this beautiful soul. My heart is breaking for his beautiful family. I will keep the entire Williams family in my prayers.

  3. I met David 20 years ago. Lots of partying in Mexico and here in the cibolo area. Dave always had a way to light up any situation we got into. He was one of those guys that you could always count on. Sadly I lost contact with him until a few years ago. I wish now that I had kept in better contact with him. He will be missed

  4. Staci,
My heart breaks for you and your family. May God bless you and the children. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. I am sorry for the loss of David, Staci. Thinking of you and praying for God to be close to your hearts.

  6. Stacie and Family,
We offer you our sincere condolences and prayers for all of you in your time of grief. May the Lord grant him eternal rest and let his His perpetual light shine upon David.

  7. Dave and I have been Friends for a long time. We both had big personalities and we blended well. He always had a way to make you laugh and see the good in all situations. He was such a glass is half full guy and so much fun to be around. He had a way of presenting you to people that made you feel better about who you were. From my family to yours, we are praying for you. God is good in all situations. We love and miss you Dave!

    • We knew David as a cute, happy, and energetic boy. That sweetness stayed and was added upon. We send our heartfelt condolence to his parents, our dear friends, to his wife and children, and to all his family and friends who knew and loved him so much. We know he is now at home in a happy place waiting and preparing for the rest of us…

  8. David and I worked together at Walmart in Aggieland and became great friends. Enjoyed his company, jokes, laughter, and caring heart. David and I spoke a couple of months ago. He was happy, spoke highly of his beautiful family and how proud he was of his son’s accomplishments. I was hurt to hear the news about the loss of such a kind, beautiful person and friend. Praying for the family. May God grant you strength, peace, and understanding during this time. David will be missed

  9. So very sorry and saddened to hear of David’s passing. There will be so much sorrow and grief because there was so much Love. Our thoughts, love and prayers are with the Family

  10. I worked with David at Documation in Houston for five years. His big personality shined through every day with big smiles and hugs for everyone. I loved his joyfulness, his story telling and his “love talk” for food, lol.
He was a wonderful human being and will no doubt be missed by his friends and loved ones. As a Christian, I know he’s with his Lord and Savior and as a believer, we will see him again soon. Rest in Peace~
My sympathies to Staci and his kids!

  11. David and I worked together side by side for several years in the copier world. Over the days, we would always share stories of family, funny things that happened in life, cooking recipes, and any other topic that came up (which was a lot). His door was always open to lend an ear or a helping hand when needed. This was his best quality, helping others! He was truly larger than life and always had a smile on his face. My heart breaks for his wife and children, which were his world. Please continue to look forward and continue his legacy as he would have wanted you to. He honestly believed that his children were destined for incredible things ahead in life. As the next few days, weeks, months, and years come and go, always remember your dad for his willingness to listen, share, and help others without hesitation. Staci, I pray that you find peace and comfort through all of this somehow. Don’t forget that you have a great support system of family and friends, and always have someone to talk to when needed. “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)
    God Bless!

  12. Such a godly, caring man. It was a blessing to know him. Bill and I will miss him and look forward to seeing him again in heaven.

  13. I am so so sorry for your loss. I was just a client of David’s and I JUST found out and my heart hurts for you all. We would only see each other about once a year but he really impacted me. He was a very positive, great guy! He will be extremely missed! Prayers for your family!
