A.S. (Stanley) Avera

A.S. (Stanley) Avera passed away peacefully August 1, 2006, in Sugar Land, TX, at the age of 90. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Lucretia.
He was a faithful member of the First Colony Church of Christ in Sugar Land and was so grateful to his fellow Christians and members of his First Family for their loving care and support.
He is survived by a son, Don Avera and wife, Judy; two daughters, Pam Fitch and husband, Jack; and Ann Fregia and husband, John; five grandchildren, Derek Avera and wife, Tania; David Avera and wife, Charity; Mark Fitch and wife, Judy; Tiffany Fetter and husband, Rodney; and John Mark Fregia; and ten great-grandchildren, Abby, Savannah, Connor, Dalton and Brock Avera; Hunter, Layton and Braely Fitch; and Alexandra and Preston Fetter; and numerous loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 5, 2006, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, TX, with a graveside service to follow immediately at the College Station Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, August 6, 2006, at 2:00 pm at the First Colony Church of Christ in Sugar Land, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Lifeline Chaplaincy, 1415 Southmore Blvd., Houston, TX 77004.

Condolences

  1. We have lost a GREAT friend. Stan WILL be missed. Some memories we have are: Stan had the knack of making ALL his ‘girls’ feel like they were his favorite. Don’t tell anyone, BUT ‘I’ was his favorite. Every time we saw Stan, he always asked about our son, Richard. Stan taught Richard to play the game ‘Rocks’ that Stan invented. Richard taught Stan to play Yahtzee. What delightful memories we will always have of Stan.
