Winnie Lucille Wade was born on September 25, 1927 to Jesse and Myrtle (Dowling) Wade in Wellborn, TX. She met the love of her life, Amos Veazey, at a train station in Wellborn and they were later married. Winnie and Amos were blessed with three daughters, Ouida, Cheri, and Joyce, and one son, Michael. Before his death in 2001, Winnie and Amos were married for over 50 treasured years. In 2005, Winnie started making baby blankets for the Prenatal Clinic and Hope Pregnancy Center and continued to do so for 10 years. Winnie was a devout member of the Wellborn Baptist Church and loved the Lord dearly. She consistently supported church mission groups to spread the word of God throughout the world. Winnie’s main joy in life was her role as a homemaker and mother for her children.

Winnie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Joyce Sayegh, sisters Dorothy Redman and Cora Taylor, and brothers Thomas and Bobby Wade.

She is survived by two daughters, Ouida Edison and husband Bill and Cheri Lawson, son Michael Veazey, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Condolences

  1. Knowing Mrs. Winnie from Wellborn Baptist Church, the word that comes to mind when I think of her is rock. She had a rock-solid faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, she was part of the firm foundation in a loving church and in her family and she was a steadfast prayer warrior, an anchor filled with love and compassion that she freely gave to everyone she came in contact with. My sincere sympathy to all her family.
May she rest in the hands of her Lord.
