Margie “Dot” Siegert Henderson

Dot Henderson, 89, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018.  A visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center.  Dot’s Funeral Celebration will begin at 10 am, Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the funeral center. Interment will follow in Rest Ever Memorial Park.  Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers Bryan-College Station.

Margie Lloyd was born to Lucian and Myrtle (Wilson) Lloyd on January 30, 1929, in Mumford, Texas. She met Cecil Siegert while they were attending elementary school in Mumford, and they stayed friends through the years.  After he returned from World War II, they renewed their friendship, and they were married soon after.  Dot embraced the large Siegert family, and happily raised her son next door to her mother-in-law and father-in-law.  Upon Cecil’s death at an early age, she later married Leslie L. Henderson.  They were married 10 years before his death, at which time her family, and especially her grandchildren, became the largest part of her life.

She is survived by her son, Benny Siegert and wife, Ann, of Lake Limestone, TX, and South Fork, CO; her granddaughter, Kris Pool and husband, Tom, of College Station, and her grandson,  B.J. Siegert, of Austin; her great-granddaughters, Addison and Ashlyn; her sisters-in-law,  Barbara Siegert, and Florence Siegert, of Bryan; and other relatives.

The family would like to express gratitude to Debbie, Tisha, Jessica, Jackie, and Angel of Park Place Assisted Living in Bryan for their incredible love and care of Dot during her final years.

In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of Margie “Dot” Siegert Henderson to The American Heart Association.
